Death was caused by a heart attack. Mr. Costello was born at Parnell on March 29, 1877, and was one of the children of the late Joseph Patrick Costello and wife. He was married to Miss Nellie Byrne at Parnell 45 years ago and resided in this city for a number of years, where he was employed in the silk mills. About 28 years ago he took up employment with the state as a guard at Michigan reformatory and about 25 years ago the family moved to Ionia, where they have since resided. Surviving are the widow, Nellie; three sons, Joseph of Pontiac, Leo of Ionia and Melvin of Kalamazoo; a daughter, Mrs. Laurence Quigg, of Trufant; four brothers, John of the Soo, James of this city, Frank of Flint and William of Los Angeles, Calif., and two sisters, Mrs. Edwin Finn and Mrs. Anna Malone of Lowell. The rosary will be recited at the family home this Thursday evening with funeral services Friday morning at 9 o’clock with Rev. Fr. John S. Fons, pastor of SS. Peter and Paul church, Ionia, officiating and burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery, Ionia.
